Cerrato and Izzo named top weekly runners

Genesis Cerrato of Rockford and Rob Izzo of Aurora were named the Northern Athletics Conference Women's and Men's Cross Country Student-Athletes of the Week for events of September 19-25.

Cerrato (Las Vegas, Nev.) finished 14th in the Lake Forest College Forester Invitational, but was first among Division III runners, as the event included Division I runners as well. She set a personal best time of 19:57 in the 5K event for her second-straight weekly award.

Izzo (Naperville, Ill.) set an AU freshman record with a time of 26.53.3 in the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational on Friday. He finished 91st of over 400 entrants in the 8K event.
