The NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Committee announced Monday afternoon the field of 64 teams for the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship including the bracket and locations. Northern Athletics Conference champion Wisconsin Lutheran College will travel to play host Calvin College in a first-round game on Friday at 7:30 p.m. (EST) at Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Wisconsin Lutheran (24-4) and No. 5 Calvin (25-1) each secured a spot in the national tournament by winning their respective conference tournaments -- Wisconsin Lutheran the NAC, and Calvin the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association -- for each leagues' automatic bid.
The Warriors are making their second-straight appearance to the NCAA III Championship Tournament and fourth overall, while the host Knights are making their third-straight appearance and 13th all-time. WLC is 0-3 in the all-time series versus the Knights.
On Friday at 5 p.m., University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (23-4) will face Franklin College (Ind.) (25-2). Friday's winners will play at 7:30 on Saturday night in the second round.
