Benedictine’s Leyden earns
first team All-Region volleyball honor
LISLE, Ill. -- Benedictine University sophomore outside hitter Kayla
Leyden (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward Catholic H.S.) has been named to the
2008 All-Midwest Region First Team for NCAA Division III by the
American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Leyden was one of
just two sophomores to be honored on the all-region list for the
Midwest.

Kari Herbst records 3,000th
career assist
RIVER FOREST,
Ill. -- Kari Herbst (Bartlett, Ill.), setter for the Concordia
University Chicago volleyball team, reached a career milestone last
night when she recorded her 3,000th career assist in the Cougars'
25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 25-12 win at Rockford College.

Rockford volleyball hosts Dig
for Life event
ROCKFORD,
Ill. -- When the volleyball teams from Concordia University Chicago
and Rockford College meet on Wednesday night at the Seaver Center,
the match will take on an additional meaning. In coordination with
the Northern Athletics Conference and the Rockford college Jane
Addams Center for Civic Engagement, the Regents volleyball team will
host their annual "Dig for Life" match to help raise awareness and
money for breast cancer research.

First volleyball match webcast
at Edgewood College slated for Tuesday
MADISON,
Wis. -- For
the first time ever, Edgewood College will be
webcasting a volleyball match. Barry Adams and Suann Saltzberry
will call Tuesday’s action live on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com. Live
Stats will also be available for Tuesday’s match.

Lakeland selected to repeat as NAC women's volleyball champions
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Lakeland College has been selected to win
the upcoming season's Northern Athletics Conference women's volleyball title,
according to the preseason coaches' poll.

McClure leads new volleyball staff at Alverno
MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The volleyball program at Alverno College
will have new leadership this season as Brad Duckworth, Director of Athletics,
announced the hiring of a new volleyball staff for the Inferno. Crystal McClure
was named head volleyball coach and Heather Mernitz was named an assistant coach
for the 2008 season.

AVCA recognizes three Northern Athletics Conference teams for academic
excellence
WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association
(AVCA) announced today that a record 353 teams earned the AVCA Team Academic
Award for the 2007-2008 season. Three Northern Athletics Conference women's
volleyball teams -- Concordia University Wisconsin, Edgewood College and
Lakeland College -- were among the teams awarded.

Wolferstetter resigns after seven seasons
MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Kay Wolferstetter has announced her
resignation as Head Volleyball Coach at Alverno College. Wolferstetter spent
seven seasons coaching the volleyball team with six of those at the helm.
