Stelzer stepping down as head
volleyball coach at WLC “Heather has done a great job leading the young ladies on the volleyball court,” says athletics director Skip Noon. “We're appreciative of all her efforts and we continue to be thankful for her involvement in the future of Warriors Athletics and WLC.” Stelzer, the seventh head coach in Wisconsin Lutheran volleyball history, began her collegiate coaching career at WLC in 2005. She compiled an overall record of 50-69, including a 24-27 mark in conference play during her four seasons at the helm. The 19-win season accomplished by her 2008 squad marked the highest win total during her term and also the fifth highest single-season win total in program history. Stelzer has mentored nine student-athletes who have received all-conference recognition. “I have deeply enjoyed my tenure as head coach,” says Stelzer. “The players who have entered my life over the past four years will always be a part of me. I will miss all facets of the game, but look forward to spending more time with my family.” Stelzer will continue to serve the athletics department as recruiting coordinator and finance manager of concessions, while increasing her course load as a part-time instructor in the business department.
