Spartan named to D3football.com team of the week
AURORA, Ill. -- Aurora University Spartan football player, junior defensive back Tony Musaraca (Sugar Grove, IL/Kaneland HS), was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after having been named the Northern Athletics Conference Football Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 2, 2008.

On the week in which the Spartans defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College 51-6 and improved AU’s record to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in Northern Athletics Conference play, Musaraca had a career type afternoon.

Musaraca led an AU defense that forced nine turnovers including seven interceptions and held the Warriors to 2.8 yards per play on the day. His four interceptions (all in the first half) tie an AU single game record originally set by Brian Fetterolf on September 9, 1989, against Knox College.

On the season, Musaraca has six interceptions, 39 tackles, four pass break-ups and one fumble recovery.

Musaraca and the Spartan football team are in action next on Saturday, November 8, 2008, when they travel to Concordia University Chicago in a Northern Athletics Conference match-up. Game time is set for noon in River Forest, IL.
