Larson and Porter join Alverno athletics staff
MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Alverno College has announced the addition of Josh Larson and Beth Porter to the Inferno Athletics staff. Larson was named Sports Information Director and Porter was named Assistant Basketball Coach and Assistant Sports Information Director.

Larson joins the Inferno staff, but is no stranger to program. He serves as Sports Information Director of the Northern Athletics Conference, which Alverno is a member, since the conference's beginning in 2006. Prior to the NAC, Larson served as SID for the Lake Michigan Conference, Alverno's former conference, for the previous seven years.

Larson is a graduate of Edgewood College in Madison where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Computer Information Systems. While at Edgewood he was a four-year letterwinner on the men's basketball team, a three-time LMC Scholar-Athlete and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. His team won the LMC championship his junior year, and participated in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship his senior season.

Porter also has familiarity with Alverno, working at NAC foe Lakeland College as Assistant Sports Information Director the past two years and playing basketball for the Muskies the four years prior.

Porter will be receiving her MBA in late August and also earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lakeland, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was a four-year member of the women's basketball team for the Muskies, and was named the team's co-captain for her senior season. Her team won the LMC championship and participated in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship in both 2004 and 2006.
