Aurora claims inaugural NAC
Women's Golf Championship Aurora University lead by 29 strokes after the first day of the championship, and added 9 more to their cushion on the final day to finish with a score of 920 (462-458). Edgewood College finished in second place with a score of 958 (500-458), rallying from fifth place after day one. Lakeland College finished in the No. 3 spot with a 996 (491-505) total. Edgewood College's Nicole Gluzinski claimed medalist honors by finishing ten strokes better than her teammate and runner-up, Kaitlyn Herzog. Gluzinski shot a championship best 89 on day one, and followed it up with the best round of day two at 93. Hertzog totaled 192 (97-95), and Wisconsin Lutheran College's Abbie Lecy totaled 197 (92-107) to finish third. Northern Athletics Conference, Sports Information Department, October 7, 2006. |
